Instrumental Art Exhibition

Just back from the opening night of the musical youth foundation’s instrumental art exhibition. Running for the next four weeks the aim of the show is t raise money to provide every child in Ireland access to a musical education. Featuring over 100 unique pieces of art created on or with old and unused musical instruments.Taking place on the top floor of Stephens green shopping centre from now until the 24th of june, with free admission and well worth a look.
Above is my contribution to the exhibition. Was looking over the whole show and no sign of it on the walls thought for a bit it might have been left out, only to discover it smack bang in the middle of the reception desk beside the programs, must remember next time to pick up a program before I go looking around a show.
Artists Paul Flynn with his fantastic guitar lamp, and a beautiful violin by artist Donna Mc Gee just some of the fantastic work on show and all in aid of a good cause.

Peoples Art Exhibition 11th 12th & 13th of May

April 27, 2012Here’s a couple of recent commissions of the Titanic and a Kerry cottage. Very different subject matter, both done with watercolour. Thinks that’s what I like most about taking on commissions for people you never know what they’ll end up asking to be painted.
A Few new Ones
March 22, 2012Been working on a new technique or style of painting for my watercolours lately and theses are some of the results, I wanted to loosen them up a bit and add some more of an atmosphere to them. Not that there was anything wrong with how I’ve painted with watercolours before but it nice to mix it up every once in a while and push what i can do.
